Achieving the Perfect Rose Gold Hair Tone: A Step-by-Step Guide

Achieving the Perfect Rose Gold Hair Tone: A Step-by-Step Guide

At The Aphrodite Studio in South Yarra, we’re all about creating unique, personalised hair colours that bring out the best in our clients. Recently, we achieved a stunning rose gold tone that’s soft, dimensional, and free of those overpowering pink undertones. Curious about how we did it? Here’s the inside scoop!

Understanding the Starting Point

Every great hair transformation begins with an assessment of the client’s current hair. For this look, my client already had a warm base, making it the perfect canvas to create a luminous rose gold finish.

Step 1: Baby Lights

To add depth and dimension, we applied baby lights using powder lightener mixed with 3%. Baby lights are fine, subtle highlights that blend seamlessly with the natural hair colour, creating a soft, natural glow.

Step 2: Tip-Out

For an extra pop of brightness, we “tipped out” the ends using powder lightener with 6%. This technique enhances the overall look by adding a touch of contrast to the hair’s tips, ensuring a vibrant yet balanced finish.

Step 3: The Gloss

To achieve that perfect rose gold tone, we finished with a custom gloss mix:

20g T9 10g G8 Gloss Toner

If you’re aiming for a lighter result, you can opt for a level 9 mix. This step is crucial for adding shine and refining the tone to perfection.

The Result? Absolute Perfection!

The final look is soft, dimensional, and incredibly wearable. It’s the ideal rose gold for anyone who wants a modern, sophisticated twist on a classic color trend.
